How to configure the Repeater Mode on FTA1101?

This article mainly introduces how to configure the repeater mode on the FTA1101.

Repeater Mode is a feature in gateways that allows them to extend the coverage area of an existing network.

FTA1101 can act as a relay station, receiving and retransmitting signals from the main network to areas with weak or no coverage.

Configuration Steps

1.Physical connection

Connect FTA1101s LAN port to a computer with an Ethernet cable, connect the Phone port to an analog Phone, When connected properly, the adapters light will be solid red, the computer will get an IP address(192.168.1.X) from the adapter.

2.Login to the adapters management page

Open a browser and type in the adapters LAN IP address 192.168.1.1 in the address bar, a login page displays as below, both the default username and password are admin. Then click Login.

Note: If you can not open the page http://192.168.1.1 with your browser, it is commonly caused by the IP address conflicting with the WAN IP. In that case, open the page http://192.168.2.1 instead.




3.Go to Wireless > Basic page, modify “Wireless Connection Mode ” to Repeater , set up the FTA1101s SSID, click “Save”.

4.Go to Wireless > Repeater page, connect to the Routers SSID.

Select the SSID, enter the password, click OK

5.Go to Administration > Operating Mode page, change Operating Mode to “Advanced Mode ” , click “Save & Apply”


6.Go to Network > LAN page, enable Local DHCP Server and click “Save & Apply”

7.Go to Network > WAN page, enable NAT and click “Save”

8.Change the Connect Name to New Connection, refer to the page below. Click Save & Apply



9.Reboot FTA1101


Connection Test

The wireless clients, such as IP phones and mobile phones can connect to the Wi-Fi of the FTA1101 to surf the internet.
